Ms. Kirschenman's Museum of Large and Small

Ms. Kirschenman's Museum of Large and Small

Students in Ms. Kirschenman's fifth grade class have been spending time in Math learning about place value and the powers of ten.

Students were split up into groups and became experts in certain place values.

They shared their knowledge with classmates but then took it a step further by creating a "Museum of the Large and Small" and invited Mrs. Cromwell's third grade class to visit their newly created museum.

Fifth graders taught third grade students a mini lesson on their place value and even developed games and prizes for the third graders to play and win. Ms. Kirschenman stated that she "was excited to empower her fifth grade students with a leadership opportunity."

Both Ms. Kirschenman and Mrs. Cromwell were excited to give their students this unique way to learn this very important math skill.
