Kindergarten Class Has Zoom Call with Their Favorite Author!

It started with Kindergarten teacher, Mr. Silva, reading and sharing a few of his favorite books by one of his favorite authors to his class. One book led to another and to another until Mr. Silva's Kindergarten class had read every book written by author Jessie Sima (so far!).

Students then wanted to know more about Jessie and so the class decided to write letters to their new favorite author. When Mr. Silva reached out to Jessie Sima through their email an offer was extended by the author to Zoom with the class live! Students could not contain their excitement!

When the Kindergarten students sat down in the library and connected on the big screen to Jessie Sima, many students gasped out loud and a few shouted "We love you Jessie Sima!". Jessie read one of their books, did many art demos with students and answered all of their questions. It was an amazing experience to see students connecting live to an author they had grown to admire!
